Challenge

Launching and sustaining a small business, Meraki Handmade, posed the challenge of creating a distinctive brand identity, establishing a local presence, and adapting to market changes. The initial success in Colombia faced a setback during the relocation to Canada, prompting a pause in operations.

Process

As the sole proprietor, I undertook the responsibility of crafting the entire brand identity. This involved designing the logo, defining the look and feel, creating captivating photography, and managing social media posts and advertising. Despite being a side venture during my bachelor's degree, Meraki Handmade gained significant traction locally, amassing close to 5k followers and delivering products to over 10 cities nationwide.

The project went on hiatus during my move to Canada, resulting in a decline in followers. However, the brand is set to make a comeback in North America, with a revitalized website, new social channels, and an official relaunch scheduled for early 2024.

Solution

The renewed focus on Meraki Handmade aims to rekindle its success story by tapping into the North American market. The comprehensive rebranding, coupled with a fresh online presence, positions the project for a successful relaunch.

The experience gained from the initial venture serves as a valuable foundation, ensuring the brand's readiness to make a significant impact in the competitive market landscape.
